Greg Darnall has been making custom bits and spurs for more than 30 years but is also well known for his commerical line, Greg Darnall Bits and Spurs. A passionate horseman, he found time to be a judge for the National Reining Horse Association for the past 16 years, serving 12 years on the NRHA Board of Directors. Darnall is called on to teach incoming NRHA judging candidates the equipment component at their Judges Schools. He is a member of the U.S. Equestrian Team Reining Discipline committee and has been very influential in bringing reining to the Olympic level as its authority on Western discipline. Darnall is a frequent lecturer at the American Quarter Horse Association Congress, the Alberta Horse Breeders Association, Oklahoma State University, Texas Tech University, Texas A&M University and the University of New Mexico. An affable and effective teacher, Darnall also enjoys passing on the skills of his trade one-on-one and several successful bit and spur makers have apprenticed under Darnall. He has been featured in numerous magazines including: Western Horseman, Wetern and English World, Quarter Horse Journal and The Reiner.
